Skilling Adolescent Mother's for a holistic Child development
Objectives/Background
Women of Tomorrow Development Organization (WORDS) is a non profit organization based in Uganda, dedicated to empowering adolescent mother's and vulnerable girls, through education, Skills development and parenting mentorship particularly in rural communities, where access to Education, healthcarecare, opportunities to early learning for children below 6 years and economic opportunities are limited.
In Uganda, adolescent pregnancy rates are alarmingly high, with 1 in 4 girls becoming pregnant before the age of 18 age (UBOS, 2020). This often leafs to girls dropping out of school. Perpetuating cycles of poverty and vulnerability.WOTDO recognizes that supporting adolescent mothers is crucial for breaking these cycles and creating a brighter future for themselves, their children, and communities.
Our Approach;
WOTDO's approach is centered on holistic child development and recognizing that a child's growth and well being are influenced by multiple factors, including their physical, emotional and cognitive development.
We work with adolescent mothers to provide them with skills of Nurturing Care Framework.

Context/Target Group
We target Adolescent mothers in vulnerable communities in Northern and South western Uganda, with children below 6 years.
